BECOMING A HOMEOWNER

Our ministry's mission is more than working with individuals to provide simple, affordable housing; it is more than teaching people how to lay tile or hammer a shingle. It is very much about trust and communication and education and caring.

Our all volunteer Committees for Family Selection and Family Partnership has the privilege of fostering the unique partnership required to be in the Habitat program. From the moment an application is processed to the exhilarating day when someone becomes a homeowner and moves into their new house, they offer encouragement and guidance. This is often a long process full of obstacles.  Every family is diverse and exceptionally unique but the one common thread that weaves them together in our program is the desire to build a future that is the commitment to work hard, and reach a dream called “homeownership”.

Habitat for Humanity of Winter Park-Maitland services the following areas: 32789, 32751, 32792 (Orange County)

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IS A HAND UP, NOT A HAND OUT

Each of our partner families will make a down payment, make monthly mortgage payments, and invest hundreds of hours of their own labor - sweat equity - into building their house and the houses of others.
